This is a digital snapshot of the setup I used for the airborne martini glass picture (part of the "Submissions to 2012 Red Clay Survey" picture set). Camera is a Nikon F100 with a Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 zoom. The Nikon SB-80DX flash is sitting on the floor pointing toward the wall with a black paper shield to prevent any light from hitting the glass directly. I used a wired remote release to snap the picture as I threw the glass up in the air after which it landed on the padded plastic table cloth. Then I would clean up the glass and repeat the operation.
